The popular messaging app WhatsApp offers the security features that many users crave.
One of the things you can do to protect your WhatsApp account from unauthorized access by other parties is to apply two step verification, or what is commonly known as two-factor authentication.
How to activate the two-step verification security feature on WhatsApp is:
Open WhatsApp
- Tap the three dot menu at the top right of your WhatsApp, select the Settings option
- Tap the Account menu
- Select Two step verification and set it as needed, you can use a PIN or email address.
Two-step verification involves an additional PIN code which is required each time the user logs in to the WhatsApp account, after entering the 6 digit registration code.
Two-step verification gives WhatsApp users the option of entering their email address, to help users recover their WhatsApp account if they forget their PIN. With this, users can immediately reset their PIN by requesting a reset link.
